Girls like you only came around once in a lifetime. Dimples hidden among brown freckles seemed to describe your appearance the best. That perfectly round face popping out of fuzzy, wool sweater made me want to grab you and kiss you. So I did. You never complain though, only giggle in response.

In our own little world, we walk along the river bank hand in hand. My blonde hair keeps flying over my face prohibiting me from seeing you and getting on my nerves.

You string my locks back with an extra hair tie only allowing a few strands to get away.

Today is the first day of October and the weather shows it. In our pea coats and suede boots, we continue along with nothing to say. There’s no need though because we enjoy silence. It’s never awkward and that’s how I knew you were the one for me.

Only you could enjoy walks in the park during fall, checking out old books from the library, and drinking Chai tea latte’s from the local coffee joint.

“Do you think it could stay like this forever?” You say out of nowhere.

“I hope so,” I reply. “It almost seems like a movie. I can hear a soundtrack in my head.”

“Oh really? And what songs do you hear?”

“I’m writing them as we walk.”

That was enough to quiet you once more. I can see you hiding a bashful smile behind your long, red hair. I can only hope all autumn days are as picturesque as this one.
