Chemical Party

"That's better," Roni said aloud.

She stared at herself in the mirror after cleaning up the counter. She ran a hand through her hair and applied a touch-up to her cheeks. Making sure there was nothing around her nose, she put on lip gloss and opened the door.

Taylor was waiting in the hallway for her. She jumped, making her heart pound. "Oh hey! You scared me! What are you doing? Get another drink? I should do that. You going to the bathroom too? Want me to wait for you?"

Taylor looked at her strangely as he was bombarded with questions. He watched her mouth move a million miles a minute. What did she take? he wondered worriedly, but with some fascination.

It wasn’t that he didn’t like art. In fact, Zac was a big fan of Van Gogh and Monet, but what he didn’t like was the people that Julia surrounded herself with. They were definitely not his crowd, but he stuck with this because he had found himself increasingly attracted to the Julia that no one else could see. The problem was just that their lifestyles were so different.

Genre: Drama/Challenge

Rating: R due to possible language and adult situations.
