"So, what did you and Bob talked about?" Carol asked curiously at lunch time.
"No, we didn't talk. I walked out on him," I replied as a matter-of-fact.
"What?" Liza freaked. "You mean, you didn't tell
him anything?"
I nodded as I took a bite on my ham and cheese sandwich.
"Well, did you consider to give him a break?" Michelle asked. "I mean, you guys, haven't seen each other for like 3 months and there you go, Boom! Can't tell him anything what's going on in your life. I think you've only talked last Saturday for just a few minutes?"
"I think you're avoiding him," Liza concluded.
I swallowed. "Huh? Duh. Maybe. Yeah, but think he'll get the message."
"Get what?" Annie asked, as she took a sip on her iced tea.
"That it's not yet the right time to tell him everything, something concerning between us," I said.
"Oh," Michelle's eyebrow shot up. "Typical you. I thought there's nothing to talk about you guys?"
Uh-oh.Oops. "No, what I mean is, I think we've grown apart," I excused.
"No, you said something there," Liza concluded. "What's that between you and Bob?"
"Nothing," I cried to my defense. "Just forget it."
"Uh-oh, I smell something going on in here," Carol replied. Then she took a sip on her yogurt.
"I think she's falling for Bob," Liza added. My eyes got big.
"What did you just say?" Carol pitched in. "Best
friends turning into lovers? Bob and Leigh? Leigh and Bob?"
"Guys, come on, stop that!" I protested. "Bob's my best friend. I mean,
yeah, he used to be my best friend." I corrected.
"Seems to be the cliche if Bob and Leigh will end up to be together," Michelle replied. "After all these years."
"Tsk," Liza mused. "It's ok, Leigh, out with it. Tell us what's going on between you and him?"
"Nothing," I cried. "Please..." But I'm not so sure. I just don't know how to tell them.
"Well, you'd better tell us or else?" Michelle warned.
"What?" I asked irritated.
"Nothing," she smiled. "Just tell us, ok?"
"Ugh!" I don't know why I did it but I think it's the right thing to do. I stood up and left the girls behind their table.
"Leigh, where are you going? Get back here," Liza asked.
"You know, what's her problem?"I heard Carol asked.
"I don't know, maybe she's really in love with him," Annie continued to say.
Well, let the girls speak what's on their minds but I didn't mind looking back at them.
